Overview

Sepiring @ Setia City Mall stands out as a charming culinary destination for those seeking authentic Malaysian flavors in a welcoming atmosphere. Located conveniently at the Lower Ground level of Setia City Mall in Shah Alam, Sepiring offers an inviting space complemented by efficient service and ample seating — ideal for casual lunches or relaxed dinners.

The heart of Sepiring lies in its well-curated menu, which pays homage to traditional Peranakan and Malay cuisine. Signature dishes such as the Nyonya Nasi Ulam with Ayam Percik showcase a fragrant medley of aromatic herb rice paired with tender spiced chicken, fresh kerabu kacang botol, and crunchy keropok lekor. This dish exemplifies a harmonious balance of textures and flavors that satisfy both the palate and appetite. For those who prefer hearty comfort, the Kari Laksa captures the essence of a rich, spicy curry broth loaded with fresh prawns, chicken, and fish cake—each spoonful rich with layered spices that resonate with Nyonya heritage.

Beyond mains, Sepiring’s beverage selection offers delightful contrasts like the Lemint Fizz, a refreshing fusion of mint and lemon, and the Espresso Coconut Shake, a unique tropical twist that energizes with its unexpected coffee infusion. These drinks complement the robust flavors of the food and provide a refreshing palate cleanser.

Customers frequently highlight the generous portion sizes, which are satisfying enough to share, and appreciate the authenticity infused in each dish. While some find opportunities to refine seasoning, especially in accompaniments like percik sauce or the gula Melaka in desserts, the overall dining experience remains memorable and true to its culinary roots.

Sepiring also caters to a broad audience—from local food enthusiasts eager to indulge in Peranakan classics, to families seeking comforting meals served in a clean, accessible environment. The mall’s multi-level parking and easily accessible location add to the convenience, making Sepiring an appealing choice for both Shak Alam residents and visitors.

Though a few observations note areas for improvement, such as cleanliness near sink areas and some inconsistencies in dessert textures, the quality and depth of flavors offered firmly place Sepiring as a worthy destination. This restaurant exemplifies a sincere dedication to preserving Malaysian gastronomic traditions while delivering a dining experience that is as comfortable as it is flavorful.

Ordered their Nasi Lemak The food is worth every sen. The portion can probably feed 2 people. The sambal ? Fatty and sweet The rice? A bit bland to me? Can be improved Chicken? F u l f i l l i n g . Munching on the skin sends ur toungue to another universe full of taste. They nailed the marination. Ikan bilis? Medium-sized, hard and crunchy. Nuts and veggies? Please keep up this worthwhile portion, its hard to get large chicken and rice (PLUS A FULL BOILED EGG!!!!!)

Nyonya Nasi Ulam Ayam Percik - their recommended dishes in the menu. Rm25.85. Experience wise, a good portion size. The keropok lekor was nicely fried (u need to request for the sauce as none on the plate). The percik sauce was a bit bland (almost like no salt). Hainanese Chic Rice Rm18.85, is nicely done, like it better than the Nasi Ulam. The D24 Durian Cendol Rm15.85, is a letdown. The shave ice was so hard, probably pre ready and freezed. The D24 purportedly is fresh, but doesn't taste like it. The gula melaka didn't taste authentic, more like sugary taste. Recommended? Yes, will return for the chic rice, not the nasi ulam and cendol, probably will try other dishes. The staff is nice and efficient.

If you're craving authentic Malaysian flavors in a comfortable setting, Sepiring at Setia City Mall is a must-visit. Conveniently located on the ground floor, this charming eatery offers a delightful culinary experience that captures the essence of traditional local cuisine. Here’s what stood out during my visit: 1. Nyonya Laksa – Rich, aromatic, and perfectly spiced. The broth is a true representation of Nyonya heritage, balanced with generous toppings of fresh prawns, sliced chicken, fish cake, fried tofu and springy noodles. 2. Nyonya Nasi Ulam Ayam Percik – Their best seller, and it’s easy to see why. The ulam rice is fragrant and herbaceous, complemented beautifully by the tender and flavorful ayam percik, ulam kacang botol with sambal kelapa parut and keropok lekor. A well-balanced dish that’s both wholesome and satisfying. 3. Sago Cendol – A refreshing treat with the right amount of sweetness. The creamy coconut milk and gula Melaka pair excellently with the chewy sago and soft cendol. 4. Espresso Coconut Shake – A standout drink that’s both energizing and tropical. The espresso adds a pleasant kick to the creamy coconut blend—unexpected but delicious. Beyond the food, Sepiring offers plenty of available seating with a relaxing, welcoming ambiance, perfect for a quiet lunch or casual dinner. Setia City Mall itself provides ample parking with six levels of parking space, making your visit smooth and stress-free. Sepiring delivers on both taste and comfort. Whether you’re a local food lover or a visiting foodie, this spot offers a truly Malaysian dining experience that’s not to be missed.

1st time trying their combo nasi peranakan with nasi ulam with fried chicken, nasi kunyit with curry chicken, rojak, and lobak. Food was delicious especially sambal belacan. Their yam Kueh was yummy as well. Bubur Cha Cha (forgot to snap) was also a great dessert. Definitely worth to visit again. Updated 9/8/2024, tried their set lunch which came with drink and dessert. The food was delicious and worth the price. Even though it was a set lunch, the food quality was maintained.

A bit overpriced on the beverages. I would recommend the place if you are looking for hi-tea kinda meals, but fulfill the need to feed your hunger. Warm water or cold water, fixed up with lemon. Similar size to hotel cup size. Tend to order more. Hainanese chicken rice was good. Add on nasi tambah. They were very generous to give a big portion than the original serving. Generous much! Ordered curry laksa. I think it's more like Laksa Sarawak? It was lighter than mee kuning, but thicker than bihun. Overall good. Kari is nice. My other guest ordered nasi ayam pandan, i think. Flavorful but a plate cost you ard rm25? Hmm. Ok lah. There were also rojak pasembur. Fresh condiments. But wonder why the gravy is a bit watery? Taste is OK
